Does it? After your comment in 595.59 about gsync + framegen working, I gave 595.71 a try and it was than the previous driver, 591.86. So reverted all the way back to 581.94. I was thinking about asking you how things are now, and did you see any issue with 595.71?

It does help to use rtss to limit fps externally with framegen + vsync + gsync.

I think something is messed up on the DLSS side and it has more noise in 595.76 - this was noticed during my Arc Raiders gameplay - Quality DLSS 1440P with Recommended in NVidia App (Preset K). Somebody posted a comparison https://imgsli.com/NDUzOTA0 and it can be noticed there too.

The image looks oversharpened (at least in my case playing with the same settings as in 591.86 Arc Raiders and BO7). So basically I have DLSS Override - Recommended (which is defaulting to preset K because I play 1440p) and Quality DLSS (Transformer) in-game.

Still got a crash, with an error 14 followed by 3 errors 153 (TDR) in Event Viewer taking in total 38 seconds. Happened randomly browsing in Firefox. This manifests as a sudden freeze out of the blue (mouse cursor not moving), followed by a black screen, then the driver recovering and things back to normal (after a 38s wait). This never happened in 591.xxx and previous drivers. Using a 4080S whose memory has a +1300 overclock in MSI Afterburner.

A GeForce driver is an incredibly complex piece of shit, We have an army of software engineers scratching his ass and constantly adding features and fixing bugs. My Aorus Master 5090 lost 10% of its performance; the maximum boost clock is now at 2960MHz instead of its original speed of 3000MHz. The frame time is inconsistent. I reverted to 591.86 and everything works correctly.

This has to be a joke. You didn’t fix anything — you made it worse. Sure, the voltage cap is partially back, but now every game stutters like crazy. GPU utilization keeps snapping between 0–6% and normal load, back and forth nonstop. This wasn’t happening before, so something in the driver is clearly broken. Mind you I have to keeping install driver just to make sure it's not a fluke. Get off that ChatGPT and do something productive... I thought you guys are better than Microsoft AI slop — I really thought NVIDIA would do that right thing.

If the hotfix drivers run through a shorter "much abbreviated" QA process, does that mean they were QA'd for negative time? Since the actual driver release clearly wasn't QA'd at all.

On both 591.xx and 595.xx including this version, Samsung NEO G9 57" gets stuck on black screen after wake from sleep (not the whole PC, just when the monitor is set to turn off after 15min, it gets stuck on a black screen when you try to wake). A note though this only seems to occur in the highest bandwidth mode, 7680x2160 @ 240hz 10bit, which is presumably the highest DSC mode. Maybe related to the fact that in this same mode diagnostic tools report a lower than expected bandwidth. As a workaround after it wakes to a black screen, hitting Windows + Ctrl + Shift + B (display driver reset) completely fixes the issue. I also read someone on a Linux forum who had this issue, and by disabling the Nvidia driver monitor wake routine it fixed the issue. Note the monitor has latest firmware, too.

Ram issue if your monitor isn’t seeing the gpu on boot or if does then disconnects after bios logo right after for a solid minute. This is what was happening to me at normal 4k Rez 591.74. Usually turning off the monitor, disconnecting the cable hdmi or dp for give or take 1min then plug cable in and turn the monitor back on re registers the monitor.

Although this will continue to happen until you evaluate fclk, ram mts and timings, cpu overheating or in general bad bios settings pushing cpu and ram to hard.

8k has unreasonable demand on hardware than you think so it needs absolute stability, the gpu is not the issue in this case if you’ve seen it display video within your rig.

Come on guys, You're literally the best in the world at this, You can do better.

Maybe I downloaded the driver too early or something, I will just download and install it again. Yes that is the definition of insanity, but I am really not sure what is going on, it's just Armoury Crate doing it's crap.

Edit: DDU'ing the driver again and doing a "Clean Install" fixed the problem. The GPU is recognized by ASUS Armoury Crate again.

This driver can still cause issues with games using the Vulkan API, it fixed the DLSS MFG frame pacing issue when using driver vsync, but also completely messed up these games using Vulkan api , such as Doom: The Dark Ages and Arknights: Endfield. Compared to 591.67, the frametimes of DLSS MFG in 595.76 are completely messed up, with significantly increased stuttering no matter force vsync on or off. I had to revert to driver 591.67 again because of these Vulkan games... Arknights: Endfield https://imgsli.com/NDUzOTk0 Doom: The Dark Ages https://imgsli.com/NDUzOTk1 These screenshots, taken using RTSS and showing the frametime curves at the bottom of the OSD for these games, compare 591.67 and 595.76(msBetweenDisplayChange was used to correctly read the frametime data from the DLSS MFG).

Hello. I have a question about Shader Model 6.9. I have Win11 25H2 build 26200.7922 + Nvidia driver 595.76 (RTX 5060ti 16GB), and GPU-Z shows Shader Model 6.8 in the DX12 tab. Shouldn't it be Shader Model 6.9? https://devblogs.microsoft.com/directx/shader-model-6-9-retail-and-more/https://gpuz.techpowerup.com/26/03/05/k58.png

Multibillion dollar company leader in the AI market globally can't even get a driver for years old products right while boasting how superior AI is in all fields. We need a term similar to Microslop for Nvidia as well. This hotfix only solved the voltage issue and nothing else. This is embarassing

@Manuel, you said above, "The GeForce Hotfix driver is our way to trying to get some of these fixes out to you more quickly. These drivers are basically the same as the previous released version, with a small number of additional targeted fixes. The fixes that make it in are based in part on your feedback in the Driver Feedback threads and partly on how realistic it is for us to quickly address them."

To be sure, this approach is appreciated by many users here. That said, when your team's focus becomes enhancing features like DLSS, RTX HDR, Filters, Ray Tracing, Frame Gen, G-Sync, etc., I think there needs to be a significant pivot.

Given your statement above that, "we usually try to align driver releases with significant game or product releases," it appears that the team is making game specific changes to each and every driver release, rather than game developers writing their code to leverage your standard base driver. It's the tail wagging the dog.

Personally, I couldn't give two hoots about any of your "features." They are all a bunch of useless add-ons that actually create more problems than they attempt to solve. That said, a significant number of users like and want those features.

PROPOSAL: Develop ONE driver that incorporates code that enhances hardware performance and the "features" that many users have come to know and love. THEN send that ONE driver to game developers and tell them, THIS IS IT. You write your code to match ours, not the other way around. PLEASE do away with this nonsense of trying to rewrite your driver code for every new game that comes along.

You know it and everyone on this forum knows it--when you try to rewrite the driver for every new game, all of the fundamentals that made the previous version great get all f>cked up. I'm running a high-end system with one of Gigabyte's 5090's. It's an awesome card that performs best AS IS without any of your features enabled. And the driver version that makes it perform the best across my entire platform is not the latest release, but one from a few months back-- 581.80.

So, PLEASE, roll back this incessant strategy of completely rewriting the driver for every new game that comes along and instead focus on the fundamentals--MAXIMIZING PERFORMANCE for every GPU still in circulation in its NATIVE form. THEN, and only then, develop ONE set of add-ons that EVERY game developer has to write their own code to leverage. STOP allowing the tail to wag the dog, please.

My first personal computer had a 10 MB hard drive. I would need 72 of those drives just to store driver package 566.36, 88 of them for driver 581.80, and 94 of them for driver 595.76. Get my point? The driver package is quickly pushing 1 GB in size. It needs to lose some weight. Have your driver team stick to the fundamentals, allow every game developer the opportunity to leverage a standard set of features, and have your team focus on maximizing NATIVE GPU performance. The weight will come off and it'll be a win for everyone.

GeForce Hotfix Display Driver version 595.76 is based on our latest Game Ready Driver 595.71.

This hotfix addresses the following:

  • When the graphics card is overclocked, GPU voltage may become capped, preventing it from boosting to expected levels [5934973]
  • [Resident Evil Requiem] White glowing light/dots may appear in game when Subsurface Scattering is enabled [5915673]
  • Improved path tracing performance in Resident Evil Requiem [5938207]
  • [Star Citizen] Game client crashes when launched [5935027]
  • Intermittent application crash or driver timeout may be observed when playing multi-key DRM content in a browser on HDCP 1.x monitors [5934450]

It can be accessed here: https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5812

A GeForce driver is an incredibly complex piece of software, We have an army of software engineers constantly adding features and fixing bugs. These changes are checked into the main driver branches, which are eventually run through a massive QA process and released.

Since we have so many changes being checked in, we usually try to align driver releases with significant game or product releases. This process has served us pretty well over the years but it has one significant weakness. Sometimes a change that is important to many users might end up sitting and waiting until we are able to release the driver.

The GeForce Hotfix driver is our way to trying to get some of these fixes out to you more quickly. These drivers are basically the same as the previous released version, with a small number of additional targeted fixes. The fixes that make it in are based in part on your feedback in the Driver Feedback threads and partly on how realistic it is for us to quickly address them. These fixes (and many more) will be incorporated into the next official driver release, at which time the Hotfix driver will be taken down.

To be sure, these Hotfix drivers are beta, optional and provided as-is. They are run through a much abbreviated QA process. The sole reason they exist is to get fixes out to you more quickly. The safest option is to wait for the next WHQL certified driver. But we know that many of you are willing to try these out.

These HotFix drivers represent a lot of additional work by our engineering teams, I hope they provide value for you. We’ll try it out and see if people like the idea and want us to continue.
